Cornerways

It was a lovely weekend and so quiet which we liked as a family. Positive: Good for parking. I liked the open planning. Negative: Mattresses were not comfortable as you could feel the springs coming through. Also the windows were not clean and could have done with blinds up at the windows downstairs.

A good place for a family gathering. Positive: The bedroom arrangement worked very well for us. The house was clean and provided most of what we needed. The disabled shower was very good. The hot tub was a good size. The local village shop was an unexpectedly good one. The village pub and play parks/recreation grounds were great spaces to take the children. Negative: For the price, I had hoped for/expected a higher quality of finishes in the house. The table didn't have room for us all. There was a lack of mirrors, hanging places for towels and robes and very limited places to put toiletries in the bathrooms. The garden was mainly shingle. The outside furniture wasn't usable as the cushions were wet.

The lamp was broken and dangerous x some of the seating on the sofa was not comfy x doors on the kitchen where loose x the hot tub had two leaks so they had put sticky tape on them but it was still leaking x and could not find a hose pipe to fill it up x upstairs some mattress’s need replacing and a little t.l.c x the outside could do with a little more grass and and the smell from the farm was sometime very strong x

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Cornerways. The property itself is ideally located on a quiet road next to a farm and across from a camp/caravan park. There's plenty tracks nearby to walk your dog, a decent convenience store just 10 mins walk along the road as well as an excellent fish & chip shop and a great bar/restaurant (Wilson's). First impressions were that the house is bright, spacious and clean. It has been finished to a high standard and the hot tub and EV charger are both great additions. However, we felt the furnishings and equipment within the house let it down a little and this was disappointing. The pillows and mattresses were soft and after 5 nights a few of us had sore backs plus both kids moaned about the lumpy mattresses on the bunks. The wet room shower curtain was coming off the rail and was very mouldy, one seat of the smaller sofa was broken and although very clean, the hot tub obviously had a leak that had been taped but the tape had come off in places leaving a super sticky residue that ended up on the kids swim wear and wouldn't come off! All the broken things have been previously noted by other reviewers so it's frustrating that they haven't been fixed. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to the area but probably not to this particular property.

Pleasurable stay with our family, lovely spacious house perfect for a get together with a hot tub an added bonus Positive: Lovely bit property ideal for family get togethers, plenty of space throughout Negative: Small snags throughout we reported the settee had slats missing making one seat not usable, house sleeps upto 11 people, table seats 8 albeit there were 4 seats at the breakfast bar, settees only seated 7 maximum, outside settee probably seated 4 or 5, there's a large open space outside where benches or a table and chairs would have been perfect Some of the beds were worn, main bathroom needs new batch panel. Cleanliness throughout could be better, skirting boards, shower curtains, sink plugs and overflows all could have a good clean All of the above did not spoil our weekend away, the house is lovely, very bright and spacious just little tweaks would make it perfect
