Cornerways

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Cornerways. The property itself is ideally located on a quiet road next to a farm and across from a camp/caravan park. There's plenty tracks nearby to walk your dog, a decent convenience store just 10 mins walk along the road as well as an excellent fish & chip shop and a great bar/restaurant (Wilson's). First impressions were that the house is bright, spacious and clean. It has been finished to a high standard and the hot tub and EV charger are both great additions. However, we felt the furnishings and equipment within the house let it down a little and this was disappointing. The pillows and mattresses were soft and after 5 nights a few of us had sore backs plus both kids moaned about the lumpy mattresses on the bunks. The wet room shower curtain was coming off the rail and was very mouldy, one seat of the smaller sofa was broken and although very clean, the hot tub obviously had a leak that had been taped but the tape had come off in places leaving a super sticky residue that ended up on the kids swim wear and wouldn't come off! All the broken things have been previously noted by other reviewers so it's frustrating that they haven't been fixed. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to the area but probably not to this particular property.

Pleasurable stay with our family, lovely spacious house perfect for a get together with a hot tub an added bonus Positive: Lovely bit property ideal for family get togethers, plenty of space throughout Negative: Small snags throughout we reported the settee had slats missing making one seat not usable, house sleeps upto 11 people, table seats 8 albeit there were 4 seats at the breakfast bar, settees only seated 7 maximum, outside settee probably seated 4 or 5, there's a large open space outside where benches or a table and chairs would have been perfect Some of the beds were worn, main bathroom needs new batch panel. Cleanliness throughout could be better, skirting boards, shower curtains, sink plugs and overflows all could have a good clean All of the above did not spoil our weekend away, the house is lovely, very bright and spacious just little tweaks would make it perfect

Recently stayed for our 2nd year running. Amazing house which is perfect for our big family get together. Disabled mother finds everything accessible, downstairs bedroom with ensuite accessible shower is perfect for her. Plenty of space for everyone to be together without all doing the same thing. Driveway stoned but has solid parking to side of house so access isnt an issue, held 5 cars easily last year and gated. Most things available for home from home experience, washing machine, dishwasher, clothes horse, hoover. Ideal kitchen equipment with utensils, baking trays, tin foil etc. Perfect location in a beautiful village, highly recommend Mayfield pub for lunch, within walking distance and local shop for anything you may have forgotten. The site has been developed more since last years visit, however this did not create an issue during our stay. Some aspects of the property could possibly be touched up but overall such an amazing place that delivers exactly what we need. Booked for our 3rd year and already counting down the days

Not pleasant with the sewage problem Positive: The property was clean and tidy , ideal for the wedding we went to . Negative: The second day was the wedding day , in the morning when we used the shower downstairs it became blocked and made it difficult for us to get ready, I phoned the agents up and explained the problems we were having,they came out and tried to fix ,that didn’t work so the next day the ordered a tanker to empty the the tank , unfortunately the downstairs toilet and shower still didn’t work, so this ruined our holiday and we probably won’t stay there again, I believe we should get a discount from the owners as it spoiled our trip to Yorkshire
