Adventure Cottage/House

Whitby is a fantastic place to visit. Positive: The location was good. Very handy for the shops and harbour. Cottage was very nice, well equipped, lovely decorated and extremely clean. Negative: Parking or rather lack of. The description of the cottage said there was space for 1 car but we couldn’t find it. Having said that the description wasn’t of our cottage. It wasn’t made clear that the cottage was down a gunnel and you couldn’t drive anywhere near it. Also there was only 1 entrance to the property.

Lovely holiday home for a young family! Positive: The decor and use of furniture in this house was excellent. You’ve created a lovely home away from home! After reading reviews from 2025, I can confirm that the hosts have taken on board feedback and have improved the property - They clearly care! Location was excellent- cute little yard/street that it was on. We stayed with an 8 month old and four year old comfortably. Negative: First impressions. After reading lots of constructive reviews from 2025, I thought we’d taken a risk with this property. When we arrived, my first thoughts were “Oh no, I’ve made a mistake.” The windows and front door were filthy. The plant pots were full of weeds. I thought we were going to open the door to a property that hadn’t been improved and was going to be dirty. It wasn’t dirty inside at all though! Although the inside of the house was clean, it would have been good to have had more cleaning products for us to maintain it on our stay, and staying with young children, spare bed linen would have been good. Unfortunately neither beds or pillows we found comfy and I hope you’ll look into improving those. Still a little bit more improving required to make it worth the money - in my opinion!

Absolutely fabulous break away in an extremely comfortable and well equipped house in a great location Positive: Property was extremely clean, well maintained and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, extremely central for Whitby, everything in walking distance. Negative: Parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was the May bank holiday and out of their control but everything else was perfect !

Lovely house, great visitor info many shops bit open in Wednesdays which was a shame. Great facilities, could have done Positive: Warm, clean, dog friendly, appealing Negative: Address shown as Adventure Cottage in booking.com - it’s called adventure house. Address should include Haydocks Place as confusing
