Adventure House

Positive: Great location in the centre of town and the property itself has great potential and some nice features. Good space for a family holiday. Owners/company (Gary in particular!) responsive to messages and even remembered to check in to follow up after initial issues upon arrival. Property due to be renovated- so hopefully its true potential will shine within the next year and before the summer season. I wish them the best in this because I know they can and will thrive when they do! Negative: The property was filthy. We spent the first chunk of time on our holiday cleaning. It obviously hadn’t been hoovered or properly cleaned before we arrived- we’re talking food on the kitchen floor, unwiped hob, dirty crockery and cutlery, crushed crisps on the carpet in the lounge, walls and furniture covered in dust. We could not relax until we’d wiped down more or less everything. Owners were responsive in apologising and sending a cleaner to come and help us clean the property. Seems to be a problem with the cleaning company they use? Cleaner had to be asked to mop the kitchen (used only water- no detergent…) and hoover the corridors as well as just hoovering the lounge and bedrooms. Carpets and sofas well worn and stained.

Lovely Stay Positive: Very central location/house comfortable & everything you need

Disappointing Positive: It's a great central location with heaps of potential. Negative: This house has so much potential to be wonderful but the decor is dated and the cleaner needs to go! The facilities and space is great, the furniture is good but it was generally mucky, loads of thick cobwebs and dirty marks on the flooring, old food in the dishwasher and sink...such a shame when it's so easy to fix!

Positive: Location Negative: The whole place needs a deep clean. Would benefit from redecoration in places

Love Whitby? great place to stay for your visit Positive: Excellent location for Whitby town, easily walkable to the shops, beach and of course the 199 steps to the Abbey Negative: Parking in Whitby can be a challenge, however the accommodation do provide free parking permits which worked well for our family with three cars!
