Hidden Treasure

Enjoyable visit to Whitby Positive: It suited our family of 10 (6 adults & 4 children) 1 bedroom on first floor - 2 bedrooms on 2nd floor & 2 bedrooms on 3rd floor Negative: No downstairs toilet. We had to go up 2 floors to reach the shared toilet on 2nd floor, otherwise people had to go into the en-suite to the bedroom on 1st floor.

Good for groups in a good location Positive: In a good location walking distance to all attractions. Size and number of rooms/bathrooms was perfect for us. Could be a lovely house but in need of some TLC. Lots of space in the house and seating for everyone. Was a dishwasher and washing machine but only there a weekend so didn't need to use them. Negative: Cleanliness was a bit lacking some towels marked and bathrooms not all properly clean. Smell of damp in kitchen all plates etc had to be washed before using them. Windows and doors not very well fitting causing real drafts. No hanging or storage facilities in a couple of the rooms which was awkward.

good communal area Positive: The house is in a good location and overall is a lovely home however needs some TLC Negative: The house in general looks lovely however we notice that It needs some renovation, the light in the kitchen doesn't work, the skylight leaks, the bath leaks into the living room, there's a really funky smell in the 1st bedroom bathroom on the 2nd floor, the heating was on a timing so was switched off during the day which in November wasn't very good as we had all been out walking and wanted to shower on our return however after 5 all the hot water was used and we had to sit in a cold house.

Lovely large house with plenty of space for 10 people and comfortable beds and stay. Positive: The house was lovely and modern Leigh great consideration in ensuring people have a comfortable stay with the beds and sofa. The hosts were great and on hand if needed and checking in was very easy. The facilities were great with all 5 rooms having their own bathroom (4 en-suite and 1 with a separate bathroom down a flight of steps). Lovely big house with big bedrooms and plenty of space for 10 people. Negative: Certain areas of the house needed work as there were marks on the wall in the kitchen, some kitchen cupboards have had the wrap come off on certain areas, there was a tile broken in the kitchen that could be a trip hazard or a hazard for families with small children and there is a lip on the flooring from the living to kitchen area which can be a trip hazard if not aware that it’s there. The carpet on some steps going upstairs need redoing as they’re coming off and could become a hazard when walking downstairs if the carpet comes off. The cleanliness was good but drawers were dirty in the kitchen with crumbs and some showers hadn’t been cleaned properly around the seals but all these problems are cosmetic and can easily be rectified but we had an amazing stay in comfy, large beds and had everything needed and plenty of space. Another point to be made is some rooms didn’t have any space for hanging clothes so some members of the party just kept their items in their suitcases so hanging options should be available in each room even if there’s a spacesaving clothes rail hanging on the wall, it would make things easier for people staying.
