Esk Valley House

Positive: Lovely house. Spacious and as described, very clean and had everything we needed.

Our week here was wonderful. The house is exactly as described - very comfortable and spacious - and Sleights is an excellent base for both coast and countryside. We miss it already!

Lovely big house, perfect for a family stay. Positive: Really large, light house. Kitchen well equipped, games provided for kids in the coffee table. In a good location for nearby attractions. The beds were comfortable. We loved it. Negative: Just a few things that need some attention. The water is turned up too hot. And dishwasher didn’t always clean. But these are easily sorted and would absolutely recommend a stay here.

July 2025 Stay Positive: The house is big and very tastefully decorated. It has a lovely courtyard which is a perfect sun trap. Negative: The two old vehicles parked either side of the parking space made it impossible to move our car unless someone stood in the road to stop and monitor other traffic. The attic rooms: blind did not work in one room. When opening the sky light in the twin bedroom, there was an awful smell which I suspect came from the next house bathroom outlet pipe. Had to clean frying pan as it had oil residue left in it. It would have been helpful if more than 1 dishwasher tablet had been provided. Note to other visitors, please take your own washing up liquid, wrapping foil, cling film, kitchen roll.

Nice place Positive: Neat, clean and tidy. Spacious bedrooms. Negative: There were two big vans either side of the drive making it difficult to see traffic either side. We almost had an accident because of it.
